Restoring the hydraulic integrity of this transmission I rebuilt for a 1996 Chevrolet SS . Photo on the left shows the torque converter bypass valve being tested for wear and you can see the vacuum gauge is only indicating about 12” of vacuum. This bore was badly worn and would have caused the torque converter to fail if it wasn't repaired. Photo on the right shows after the repair now it is at an acceptable reading and will preform the way it was designed and will last many year of driving. This is just one of many steps we go thru when rebuilding your transmission. This is a 4L60E Transmission.
Just a few things we do at Dupage Transmission Service. We do more than just transmissions , always have and always will. Serving Naperville and surrounding cities and suburbs for over 34 years
Have you ever thought about getting your fuel filter changed on you vehicle? This is off a 2006 Ford Escape. Chances are it has never been changed. You may want to, you fuel filter if serviceable should be changed every 20 k but I would definitely change it by 40 k. Something to think about my friends.
This is my smoke machine, a valuable tool for finding vacuum leaks. Now I could have sold him a intake gasket repair very easily but I'm not that kind of shop. Looking out for our customers!
This photo shows the extra steps we go threw to make sure your transmission will last. I'm boring a channel plate for a 4T65E transmission ( common GM Trans ) to repair the worn out bore and valve with an oversized valve. Having the equipment and knowledge to fix today's transmissions is a talent. We have years of experience and years of attending seminars on all the changes that have occurred as the transmission industry changes to meet pollution standards.
